About the Connector
The MP Xero Connector seamlessly integrates the Mobipaid payment technology and gateway with Xero's leading accounting and bookkeeping solution. Some of the key features include:
- Natively integrates as a Xero Online Payment option to be added to your invoice branding template.
- Customers can initiate online payment directly from their Xero invoice. A single click initiates the payment process.
- Flexibility to make different payment methods available via the Mobipaid dashboard. Credit Cards, EFT, Wallets etc.
- All payments are processed via Mobipaid's PCI DSS certified payment interface for complete peace of mind.
- Optionally, a surcharge for online payment can be automatically added to the invoice to cover additional bank charges.
Requirements
In order to deploy the Connector to your business, the following is required:
- Active Xero subscription
- Mobipaid Merchant account with your preferred payment methods enabled

Getting started
If the above requirements are met, then follow these steps to connect to the MP Xero Connector:
- Connect your Mobipaid merchant account to the MP Xero Connector. Refer to this guide.
- Provide us with your Mobipaid clearing account code in Xero. This is the account used for debiting the payments. If you wish to add a surcharge to the invoiced amount, provide us also with the surcharge account code, surcharge tax code and the surcharge amount in percent of the invoice total. Optionally, you can also provide us with the invoice line item code to be used for the surcharge. For more details refer to The Accounting.
- We will provision an integration user for your business and send you the username. This will connect your Mobipaid account to your Xero tenant.
- Once you have your integration username, proceed to our connection page. Enter your username and start the connection. You will then be asked to login to Xero and activate the connection.
- Login to your Xero account and setup the Mobipaid Online Payment as follows:
- From your Dashboard navigate to Business > Online payments.
- In the Payment services menu select > Add new payment service. Below the services for Card, Direct Debit and PayPal, look out for a link "add another online payment option" and click on this link.
- Select "Custom Payment URL" and continue.
- In the Account name field enter "Mobipaid".
- In Your custom URL enter: https://cis.n3connect.com/xero/payInvoice?user=username&invoiceNo=[INVOICENUMBER]¤cy=[CURRENCY]&amount=[AMOUNTDUE]&shortCode=[SHORTCODE] Replace username with your own username you used above to connect Xero to Mobipaid.
- Enter the Pay now button text, for example "Secure online payment". This will show on the invoice for the customer to pay online.
- Click save to save and return back to the Payment services screen.
- In the Payment services menu, select "Manage connected services" and click on "Manage themes".
- In the column "Credit card" select "Mobipaid" for all branding themes.
The setup is now completed, and customers can pay you directly from your Xero invoices. Payments will automatically be posted to Xero. For more details on the posting options, refer to the next article The Accounting.
