Outlook email configuration

For the ease of use of your email accounts with us, we recommend setting them up in an email client. This has the advantages that:
  1. You can manage multiple email addresses from a single place without having to manage different apps and logins.
  2. You always have a local copy of your emails available as a backup, in addition to the copy on the server.
  3. Email clients are also available for mobile devices and the most convenient way to manage your emails on the go.
In this article, we show how to setup Outlook, a popular email client provided by Microsoft. Outlook is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft or for your mobile devices from the Google or Apple stores.


Open your Outlook client:
  1. Click on the Settings gear icon to open settings.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Add a new account.
  4. Enter your new email address, which we created for you.
  5. Click on Continue.
Make sure the email type IMAP is selected, or select IMAP when asked to do so. In some clients you may be presented with setup options. In this case select manual or advanced setup.



On the next screen:
  1. Enter the password for your email. It's the same as you use to login to webmail.
  2. Select Show more to enable manual setup mode.
  3. Switch off recommended settings as you have to overwrite some of the values.
  4. Enter the following values in the applicable fields:
    1. IMAP Incoming server: s2907.fra1.stableserver.net Port: 993
    2. Secure connection type: SSL/TSL
    3. SMTP username: Your email address.
    4. SMTP password: You email password (same as you use to login to webmail).
    5. SMTP Outgoing server: s2907.fra1.stableserver.net Port: 465
    6. Secure connection type: SSL/TSL
  5. Click on Continue.
  6. Confirm the Microsoft Cloud sync and click on Continue.

The setup is then completed. You can click Done to finish or add another account to manage all of them from Outlook.

Back in Outlook select your newly added account. Your emails and folders will be downloaded from the email server and are then available locally on your devices.

You can now send and receive emails from Outlook and archive emails in Outlook.

Idea
If you have another favorite client, like Thunderbird or GMail, you can do the setup with them also. The steps to add a new account are very similar across these clients.
