To access the aircraft maintenance section navigate to your Cockpit > Maintenance.
Maintenance Calendar
Since version 1.3.2 all scheduled maintenance events are populated in the Maintenance Calendar, which is automatically updated when an event is added or changed.
The application automatically predicts hour based maintenance events based on your flying activity. The events are then scheduled in your calendar on the due date predicted by the algorithm.
Events are colored as follows for easy reading of your tasks:
1. Dark blue = Due beyond the present month, 2. Yellow = Due in the present month and not yet booked with an AMO, 3. Light blue = Due in the current month and booked with an AMO, 4. Red = Event is overdue and not set to completed.
You can edit an event directly from the calendar. To add a new event, use the Add Event button in the top right corner of the calendar tab.
Scheduled Maintenance
The 'Scheduled Maintenance' tab lists the scheduled maintenance of your aircraft fleet. You can use the available filter to limit the listed events for a selected aircraft.
Since version 1.3.2 you can add scheduled maintenance for any component or part of your aircraft. This enables you to follow the manufacturers recommended inspection and service regime.
To schedule a maintenance event click on the Add Event button in the top right corner of the Scheduled Maintenance tab.
You can also add additional life items, i.e. components and parts which are not already listed. To do so, click on the Add Life item button at the bottom of the screen where you create a new scheduled event. Specify the item you want to add with a brief description as may be necessary and assign it to a category for easy selection whilst capturing your events (N.B. The frequency hours or years are not mandatory fields, and can be left with the default 0). A newly created item will then appear in the drop down list for assignment to an event.
If you wish to modify multiple events for an aircraft, select the aircraft in the filter drop down. Then click on the Bulk edit button on the top right corner of the Scheduled Maintenance tab. All existing events will then be listed and can be modified, deleted or newly created.
For each scheduled event, you must add at least one of the due date or the due tacho hours. When due tacho hours are captured, My-Flights.app will predict the date these tacho hours are likely to be reached based on the aircraft's flying activity. The earlier of the predicted or the captured due date is then populated in your Maintenance Calendar.
Predictions are automatically re-calculated and re-scheduled every 24 hours. Your calendar is then automatically updated with any changes in predicted due dates.
The Status robot can be either on 'Not due', 'Due' or 'Over-due'. Maintenance is 'Due' 5 days or 5 flight hours before the scheduled event.
The audit module of My Flights regularly scans your maintenance schedule and you will receive an email notification 5 days and 1 day before the due date, or when the remaining hours fall below 10 hours.
You will further get a warning of overdue maintenance on My Flights which you can then access through your Cockpit > Workspace.
Note that after a change of a due date, or due tach hours of a maintenance event, the predicted due date will remain unchanged until the next re-calculation by the algorithm. The schedule will automatically be updated and the new status reflected after the next automated re-calculation has finished.
Defects and snags
The 'Defects and snags' tab lists all defects and snags recorded on your flight folios. This provides you with a central place place to access and manage all recorded defects and snags.
You can limit the view for each aircraft with the filter functionality.
The audit module also regularly screens your aircraft for unresolved defects and snags. You receive an email notification with any aircraft which has new unresolved defects or snags to assist you in resolving them timely and minimize grounded time of your asset. Unresolved defects are also listed under your Cockpit > Workspace until they are resolved.
In order to ensure a defect or snag issue is closed out, you have to complete all fields, i.e. Date rectified, Rectification and Rectified by.
If the defect or snag is not an actual defect or snag you can in this present release also delete an entry.
We are designing the AMO extension of My Flights and your Maintenance section will become your interface with your AMO.
